Scale/Salary: £20,000 - £25,000

Department: Central team – Finance and Operations

Hours and Holiday: 37 hours per week (52 weeks), annual leave 30 days (Sept – Aug)

Contract: Permanent

Responsible to: IT Business Partner

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic IT/Network Technician to support the day to day running and organisation of our IT Support Department.

The successful candidate will be able to work alone and as part of a team maintaining the school’s network and providing technical support for staff and pupils in all IT requirements.

Job Purpose

The post holder will assist the Senior Technician in providing essential day-to-day support and maintenance work on both School and Trust IT systems and provide support to all users, as directed by the Senior Technician. The IT Technician will provide support to all staff, technical help and solutions for hardware and software issues to ensure continuity of delivery of educational and Trust services.

The main responsibilities will include;

  • Provide outstanding, pro-active, accessible support to all users
  • Taking calls and managing them using the IT Helpdesk, and general problem solving.
  • Managing and maintaining the school’s various printers and consumables.
  • Assisting other members of the department across the various Trust sites
  • Installing and configuring computer hardware
  • Setup and operate audio visual equipment for assemblies and productions;
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing and solving hardware faults
  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
  • Assist the Senior Technician with large scale installations and deployments

If you are willing to train to a higher level, have good problem solving skills and a sound knowledge of a range of IT hardware and software we would welcome your application.

Previous experience of working in a school environment is preferred but not essential. Some flexibility in working hours may be required to cover school events.
